Inde Navarrette has taken Hollywood by storm. Now, her role as Nikki in Obsession could put her in contention for Best Actress at this year’s Oscars.
According to Variety, Focus Features will campaign Navarrette for Best Actress for her performance in Curry Barker’s Obsession. Given how Obsession had us covering our eyes in fear, she may not even need a One Wish Willow to take home an Oscar.
Since Obsession hit theaters on May 15, the 25-year-old of Mexican descent has become one of the industry’s biggest breakout stars. According to a Saturday Night Live Instagram post, she’s set to host the show on Halloween, which features musical guest Grace Abrams.
She’s also landed a role in the new X-Men film as Rogue, marking a new chapter as she joins the Marvel universe. She’ll also executive produce and star in Apple’s upcoming film The Waffle House Index, which follows a waitress working the graveyard shift at her local Waffle House ahead of a big storm.
We love seeing a young Latina actor celebrated for her talent as she takes on exciting new roles and projects. Now we’re wondering what else is in store for Navarrette.
