Some may call it shocking news while others may not be as surprised following cheating rumors but it seems Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have called off their engagement. The power couple was engaged for two years and now the New York’s Page Six broke the news that they have ended their relationship. The two were last seen on March 1 in the Dominican Republic where she’s filming Shotgun Wedding, PEOPLE reported, and the last time she posted was a photo of them in DR on Feb. 27. They both last posted the same images in DR but neither has commented on the breakup so far.

Lopez, 51, and Rodriguez, 45, got engaged in the Bahamas in March 2019 after making it official in 2017 and have been praised for being #couplegoals. Their blended family painted a picture perfect portrayal of a modern family with JLo’s 13-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex Marc Anthony and Alex’s daughters Ella, 12, and Natasha, 16.

“The kids have a network of people who love, adore them, and want the best for them,” Lopez told Oprah during the former talk show host’s 2020 Vision Tour. “We’ve been figuring it out as we go.”

Last month, rumors began to circulate that Rodriguez had had an affair with Madison LeCroy of the Bravo docuseries Southern Charm after castmates accused her of sleeping with married ex-MLB players. However, a source told PEOPLE then that the two had “never met.” There’s no confirmation that the rumors led to a rift that could’ve caused the split.

In an interview with the Page Six, LeCroy claimed that the pair have “spoken on the phone” and described the calls as “innocent.” She said they have “never met up” and “never been physical … never had any kind of anything. Just an acquaintance.”

They postponed their wedding twice due to the pandemic and both have previously shared that they were in no rush.

“We postponed the wedding twice. We had planned what we really, really wanted to do, [but] I don’t know if we’ll be able to re-create that,” the singer told Elle. “We canceled it, and since then we haven’t really talked about it. There’s no rush. We want to do it right when we can do it…We just have to wait to see where the world lands.”

Not only does this break up affect them and their kids, it also means they need to divide their assets which are valued at millions of dollars. Page Six reported they purchased a $40 million waterfront home on Star Island in Florida last summer.

March 13 Update: We are working through some things,” they said in a joint statement obtained by PEOPLE.
