Amara La Negra recently announced she was pregnant with twins and now another one of our favorite Latinas announced she’s also expecting a baby. Jessica Marie Garcia, known for her roles as Jasmine on Netflix’s On My Block and Camilla on Disney+’s Diary of a Future President, just announced her pregnancy with husband Adam Celorior! The Cuban-Mexican-American actress shared the PEOPLE exclusive photos with her baby bump on Instagram sharing in her caption, “I’m going to be a mommy!! I still can’t believe it! We are over the moon excited and so thankful to God for blessing us with this opportunity to be parents. Mommy and daddy love you soooo much and we can’t wait to meet you!! Now get off mommy’s bladder! 💕” Garcia added, “Feels so good to finally tell the world our beautiful little secret,” according to PEOPLE. “My husband Adam and I are expecting our first child in February of 2022!”
Garcia and Celorier are going on three years of marriage following their Oct. 2018 with their relationship spanning 13 years. She shared a loving Instagram post for her hubby on Valentine’s day this year writing in the caption, “You’ve shown me what it is to be truly supported and loved in every way. You’ve always stood by my side and been the partner I didn’t know existed but always prayed for.”
Garcia recently wrapped up the fourth and last season of On My Block, which was released onto Netflix back in early October to rave reviews online from fans and critics alike. Jasmine was especially praised for her character development throughout the season showing a softer, more sensitive side to the sassy and loud character.
“The class clown is always dealing with the most at home,” she previously told Bustle. “And I was the class clown, and I understood that whole, I’m going to make the joke before that joke is me. So I think that that was really helpful when building Jasmine is because you know, people might see her as one thing, but that’s definitely not all of who she is.”
Currently, she stars as Camilla opposite Gina Rodriguez on Diary of Future President, which released its second season on Disney+ in mid-August 2021. Garcia and Rodriguez are also part of the upcoming Spotify podcast Batman Unburied.
Earlier this month, Garcia also announced her return to Season 2 of GO OFF, a sketch comedy series from Con Todo, Netflix’s Spanglish channel, that she co-hosts with Gentefied star Julissa Calderon. Episodes are released every other week on Netflix’s YouTube and features familiar faces from all our favorite Latinx Netflix shows, as well as TikTok influencers.
We couldn’t be more excited for Garcia’s approaching chapter into motherhood and wish her all the best on this new journey! Felicidades, Jessica!
