These Are the Latinas Behind the Selena Quintanilla Children’s Book

A children’s book is the best to teach little kids about any subject. Kids love learning through beautiful illustrations and whimsical wording. They’re also a great way to teach kids about historical subjects. So it totally makes sense that the latest subject of the Lil’ Libros series would be on Selena Quintanilla.

Authors Patty Rodriguez and Ariana Stein are the creators of Lil’ Libros and have delivered the cutest way of teaching kids about Latino figures and Latino culture in English and Spanish. This series is genius! Their latest book is titled The Life of /La Vida De Selena: A Lil’ Libros Bilingual Biography.

On their Instagram, the authors wrote: “This is our way of saying thank you, Selena. Thank you for your music, energy, and love. The love you had for us – your community. But most importantly thank you for allowing us to dream just like you did. This is how we can thank you. By never forgetting you; by sharing your smile, music, and life with our children. By reminding them that you were us. That you loved and sang in two languages. That wherever you went you were proud of who you were and where you came from. By keeping you part of our family just like our parents did when you were here. This is for you. Thank you.”

Ariana Stein is not just a writer but also an entrepreneur. Along with being the  co-founder of Lil’ Libros she is also the founder of 1-800-Pet-Taxi.

Patty Rodriguez is a Senior Producer at On-Air with Ryan Seacrest and has her own jewelry line.

Here’s some of the other books that they’ve released under their Lil’ Libros Children’s book series:

When I was younger, I kid you not, I would dream that one day I will have a book at Barnes & Noble. God, I loved books so much. I would go to the library and check out 9 to 10 books at a time. Then when I got my first job, I would spend almost half my paycheck on books. I would walk the aisles and touch rows and rows of books with my fingertips. I would smell them and pretend that one day I will have a book on one of those shelves. So to see this today is more than surreal. It doesn't feel real, it feels like a dream. Like this crazy dream. I cannot describe it. I don't know how to feel. Thank you Ashley at @horchateriarl for sending this to us. The dream is real. This is magic. Very very real. ❤️ #sinmiedo #lillibros
