After Selena Gomez and the Weeknd Split, People Were Flipping Out

Selena Gomez and the Weeknd have split. People on social media were sort of sad, sort of confused, and also very over the whole thing. Yeah, their were a lot of mixed emotions. Things got even more heated after paparazzi caught the young singer and actress hanging out with Justin Bieber. It’s a whole Hollywood messy non-thing, but I sort of live for this stuff right now, mainly because our world is going to shit…but I digress.

Here’s what people “close” to Gomez said about the breakup, according to E! “Abel [a/k/a the Weeknd] is upset about Selena hanging out with Justin, especially twice in the same week.”

“Selena and Justin have reconnected because they have gone through similar stuff in the past couple years with being physically and mentally exhausted from touring and just dealing with the anxiety and pressure of growing up in the public eye,” another source told E!. “They have always had a strong connection, and they are leaning on each other as friends. They are both there for each other to talk and support one another.”

But what split them up? According to People magazine, “She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship,” said an “insider.” “It’s been hard with him being on tour and her in New York. That wasn’t easy for them.”

The couple were only together about ten months, and even though they seemed hot and heavy for a bit (like that one time in May), things end, it’s just life. Okay, I really sound like I’m bitter about love. But my philosophy is that people should date and figure out what works for them and what doesn’t.
