Selena Quintanilla’s legacy is receiving another tribute: the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is displaying the iconic outfit she wore on the cover of her 1994 album, Amor Prohibido.
On Monday, September 28, the Rock Hall teased the display in an Instagram post shared in collaboration with Selena’s official account. The photos showed a black jacket with lace details and side buckles, along with black lace-up boots. Fans quickly recognized the look from the album cover.
Chris Pérez, Selena’s widower, confirmed the news in an Instagram post from Cleveland, where the outfit was unveiled. “Selena’s Amor Prohibido outfit was officially unveiled and guess what… it’s in between the Eddie Van Halen display, KurtCobain’ss guitar, AND the Michael Jackson display,” he wrote. Pérez also thanked Selena’s fans for keeping her music alive, adding that “without you guys, none of this would be possible!”
Selena remains one of the most influential artists in Tejano and Latin music. The new display celebrates not only a defining look from her career, but also the enduring connection fans have with her music and legacy.
