Nothing brings us greater joy that watching a Shonda Rhimes TV show. They’ve always got everything you need: drama, comedy, and of course steaminess. Just take “Grey’s Anatomy” and “How to Get Away With Murder” for example, two amazing shows that people are/were addicted to. So it makes perfect sense that Netflix wants to get those viewers hooked. Last year it was reported that Rhimes and Netflix were teaming up to bring audiences eight new television shows, and now we’re getting more information about what those shows are actually about.

While all the shows in development with Shondaland (her production company) sound amazing. One of them is about us. “Pico & Sepulveda” — written by Janet Leahy who worked on the series “Mad Men” — takes place in Los Angeles.

According to the Hollywood Reporter:

“‘Pico & Sepulveda’ is a series set in Mexican California during the 1840s that takes its title from the well-known Los Angeles intersection of the same name. Emmy winner Janet Leahy will create and exec produce the series, which is set against the surreal and sensual backdrop of the then-Mexican state of California, and will track the end of an idyllic era there as American forces threaten brutality and war at the border to claim this breathtaking land for their own.”

The show hasn’t even started and we already want more! We honestly cannot wait to see our history on the small screen. There’s so many people, including a new generation of Latinx, who have no idea what our history in California/U.S/Mexico is all about. And with so many amazing people at the helm of the show, we’re certain the quality will be stellar.

We’re really curious as to who will be starring in the show. There’s surely going to be a great crop of new Latinx actors acting alongside beloved Latino stars. We really cannot wait!
