El Chapo’s Wife Is in Talks to Join Cast of VH1’s ‘Cartel Crew’

Emma Coronel Aispuro is sure making the most out of her husband’s infamous fame. Her name might not be familiar to you, but there’s no doubt you’ve heard of Joaquín Guzmán, otherwise known as El Chapo. In fact, you might be seeing more of her soon on reality television. According to TMZ, Coronel Aispuro could possibly be joining the cast of VH1’s Cartel Crew.

Can you blame her? Since a jury found him guilty on 17 counts earlier this year, she’s been keeping busy trying to make a name for herself. Now, what better way than to get some screen time? VH1’s Cartel Crew centers around the lives of the offspring of organized crime leaders. The show — now in its second season — includes castmembers Michael Corleone Blanco (son of Griselda Blanco Restrepo, a Colombian drug lord), Ivette Saucedo (her father has been in and out of prison for his drug dealings) and more.

Coronel Aispuro could be a new addition to the cast. Images obtained by TMZ show Coronel Aispuro on a yacht in Miami with Corleone Blanco. While it is unclear if she’s going to be on the show, the tabloid website reports that Coronel Aispuro is — as of now — simply in talks to be on the show.

As TMZ states, having Coronel Aispuro would be a change of pace for the show because allegedly the cast members no longer have active ties with organized crime. However, Coronel Aispuro still has very much active ties to El Chapo.

Whether Coronel Aispuro joins the cast of VH1’s Cartel Crew or not, she is keeping busy with other business ventures as well. She is reportedly considering launching a fashion collection. One of El Chapo’s legal assistance is helping her with her new business opportunities.
