Red, white, and blue doesn’t always make for a great cocktail — but these delicious drinks will make you rethink giving up on them. Here, some amazing cocktails to kick off Independence Day — and truly any summer day — right? Red, white, and blue are optional but festivities are not.

Red, White, and Blue Vodka Lemonade

9 cups of ice

1 cup of grenadine

1 cup of blue curaçao

1 cup of vodka

1 cup of lemonade

Separately crush 3 cups of ice and grenadine, then 3 cups of ice and blue curaçao, then ice, vodka, and lemonade. Layer in that order and cheers.

Bourbon Slush

2 parts Tres Agaves Blanco Tequila

1 part Tres Agaves Agave Nectar

12-15 blueberries

1 lime squeezed

1-2 parts filtered water

A couple of sprigs of basil

Muddle blueberries and basil with Tres Agaves Tequila. Add remaining ingredients. Shake with ice and serve over fresh ice–do not strain. Garnish with basil leaf float.

Bourbon Slush

6 cups of water

2 cups strong tea

2 cups Four Roses Bourbon

1 cup of sugar

one 6-oz. container frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed

one 12-oz. Container frozen lemon juice concentrate

Garnish: Mint sprigs or lemon slices

Combine the water, tea, bourbon, sugar, orange, and lemon juice concentrate in a large container or bowl and mix until sugar dissolves. Pour into two gallon-size freezer bags. Freeze until an hour before serving. Place the frozen punch in a large bowl and let thaw, breaking up every 15 minutes. When the punch is melted, add more ice or water as desired. Serve in punch cups. Garnish, if desired.
