The probability of Jennifer Lopez performing at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show is looking good! Entertainment Tonight is reporting that J.Lo is one of a couple of musical acts that are being considered for the 2020 Super Bowl. She’s possibly the top contender!
“Jennifer and the NFL have been in talks for a while, but there are many factors that go into the deal before it’s official,” the unnamed source told Entertainment Tonight. “Jennifer has been saying for a while she wants to perform at the halftime show, and it looks like her dream may come true.”
The source added that J.Lo has had an “incredible career that spans over decades, and this platform would give her the biggest stage ever to showcase it.” Since J.Lo has already worked with the NFL this year promoting the current season, “things are looking good” in regards to possibly being considered for the halftime show.
It’s no secret J.Lo wants to perform during the Super Bowl halftime show. Earlier this summer during her “It’s My Party” tour, she vocalized her desire pretty straightforwardly. “Yeah, we’ve thought about the Super Bowl, and it’s in Miami, it’s a big deal, but we’ll see,” Lopez told Entertainment Tonight.
She’s right, and the one making the decisions now Jay-Z. Now that the hip-hop mogul is working with the NFL. As their live music entertainment strategist and part of the new Inspire Change Initiative, he will be in charge of choosing next year’s performer. The question remains, will he choose J.Lo?
What’s more surprising is how much J.Lo has been overlooked for this show.
How is it possible that recent shows have starred artists such as Maroon 5 and Justin Timberlake, and yet J.Lo has never been on that stage? It makes no sense.
If Jay-Z passes on J.Lo in 2020, we’re just going to assume there’s some kind of conspiracy against her going on.
J.Lo shouldn’t be too hard on herself because her latest project — her film, Hustlers is getting rave reviews. During an interview with Hoda Kotb, the singer teared up when she was told that some film critics are saying her role in Hustlers could nab her an Oscar nomination.
“I’ve been working so hard for so long, for my whole life, si it’s nice,” J.Lo told Kotb. She said she was sitting in her bed reading all the reviews and was stunned at the positive words about this film and cried.
Girl, you deserve all this praise for Hustlers, and the Super Bowl halftime show too! Check out that interview below.
