Selena Gomez Takes A Break From Social Media, Now People Speculate It’s Because Of A J.Lo Message

Selena Gomez told fans on Instagram that she’s taking a break from social media once again. The singer and actress has taken a couple of social media breaks — which is considered to be extremely healthy — but of course, people are now trying to speculate why.

In her post she wrote: “Mood lol (I was looking at myself in the mirror -like an idiot!) Update: taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given. Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi.”

That last sentiment may be at least one of the reasons why she decided to take a break. But now we’re left wondering what those negative comments were. Gomez’s recent social media posting may give a hint as to why she decided to take a break. This past weekend, Gomez was very present on social media including doing an extensive Instagram Live session with fans, which ran more than 45 minutes. In the video she spoke a lot about social media use, about not caring how many followers she had, about what it means to her when someone likes her picture, and also about her feelings toward the Elle magazine interview. She also said that her mind was all over the place. That could be one indication in which it’s probably not the best time to do a live session with fans if you’re not feeling very well.

The New York Post is also reporting that Gomez also attended J.Lo’s concert in Las Vegas this past weekend. People are speculating that because Gomez wrote a message to J.Lo in which she spoke about God that it could be a reason for her social media break.

The Post provided the screenshot in which Gomez says that God was speaking to her in various ways. To us, that message does not qualify as a questionable moment. It’s certainly not weird. We’ve all gone to shows or concerts in which we are moved profoundly.

Whatever her reason for taking a break is, we’re glad she’s taking care of herself.
