It’s officially fall and with that, the Halloween season! There are so many ways to celebrate this month through food, drinks, and fashion. But don’t forget about your watch-list of shows and movies. We all know that there are plenty of classic horror movies to watch but unsurprisingly, few of them feature Latinas in key or even supporting roles. While that’s slowly changing, it’s more important than ever to support horror projects that feature our community, especially Latinas who remain underrepresented in entertainment. That’s why we decided to put together this list of spooky TV shows and movies starring Latina actors we know and love like Melissa Barrera and Eiza Gonzalez so that you can get into the spirit of the season and celebrate our fellow Latina powerhouses at the same time. From Scream VI to Huesera: The Bone Woman, here are 10 spooky shows and movies starring Latinas that you need to watch this month.

Los Espookys (2019)

Los Espookys only released two seasons but we’d argue that it’s one of the best shows to watch during the Halloween season. The series follows a group of friends who form a business that uses special effects to scare and thrill clients. There’s Renaldo, a horror enthusiast and the leader of the pack; Úrsula, in charge of logistics and execution; Tati, Úrsula’s sister who serves as the business’s test dummy; and Andrés, an heir to his family’s chocolate empire. The series stars Latina actors including Cassandra Ciangherotti and Ana Fabrega, as well Bernardo Velasco, Julio Torres, and Fred Armisen. Each episode follows the group’s personal and business-related hijinks that are as funny as they are clever.
