According to a study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, it is totally normal to have sexual fantasies and it is also totally normal to not actually want to act on them. For instance, you might dream about being dominated a la 50 Shades of Grey but half of the women who fantasize about being dominated don’t actually want to do it, according to Business Insider. At the same time, that shouldn’t stop anyone from sharing their most common sexual fantasies or indulging in buying high-quality sex toys either.

Taboos are disappearing and we’re much more open to letting our freak flags fly than ever before. Here are 10 of the most common sexual fantasies women have — and you should totally be sharing with your partner. After all, even if they’re not into it as much as you are, it will start a convo that is sure to make your sex life better. Enjoy!

It turns out that 84.9% of us fantasize about having sex in a romantic location. What does that mean, exactly? Well, that can mean something different depending on who you are and what your idea of romantic is… Maybe that’s rose petals and champagne in a fancy hotel room, maybe it’s taking a sexy bath together before your partner leads you back to the bed you share, or maybe it’s something else entirely. Whatever that is, what you REALLY want is a deep connection.

2. Also, having sex in an unusual place.

Although 81.7% of us want to have sex in an unusual place, that doesn’t necessarily mean sex in public (we’ll get to that later). An unusual place can simply mean sex somewhere that you’re not used to. Use your imagination and lead your sweetie to having sex on the couch, sex on the kitchen counter, or even sex in your car when you’re feeling particularly frisky.

3. Receiving oral sex.

You might be the kind of girl that prefers to receive oral sex (I’m guilty!) or the kind that prefers to give (more on that below) but either way, 78.5% of women have had a fantasy that involves oral sex. If that’s what you’re wishing for, send your lover a sexy text that simply says, “Tonight, it’s ONLY about oral for us.” Then follow up on your promise by only focusing on what you can give and what you receive — without going further.

4. Giving oral sex.

Yes, 72.1% of women fantasize about giving oral sex to a man. Although the study skews pretty heteronormative, it’s still nice to know that so many ladies want to please their male partners. He will probably not at all mind if you took him by the hand when he got home, led him to the bedroom, and simply went to town…

5. Having a partner masturbate you.

Talking about masturbation is still a taboo subject around the world, but it seems that it’s definitely something that we all fantasize about since 71.4% of female respondents wanted to be masturbated by their partners. That’s certainly ONE fun way to get off, isn’t it? Tell him what you want and then welcome him to indulge your fantasy.

6. Masturbating your partner.

Although not quite as high, 68.1% of us fantasize about then returning the favor and masturbating our partner. Hey, no time like the present to work on your hand job skills.

7. Having sex with someone who isn’t my partner.

Infidelity and having sex with a stranger are two common fantasies, and they come together in this common fantasy that 66.3% of women share. For this one, just remember that having this fantasy (and telling your partner about it) does NOT mean that you should or really want to do it. After all, sometimes a fantasy is just about closing your eyes and exploring safely, amirite?

8. Being dominated sexually…

Here’s one that 50 Shades fans will totally agree with, and 64.6% of women seem to agree that BDSM can add a new dimension to your sex life if you’re brave enough to try it. “I encourage exploration of BDSM [bondage, dominance and submission, sadomasochism] for couples,” sex expert Ava Cadell, Ph.D., told SELF. “People are eager to discover new roles for themselves and exchange power in a sexy and safe way.”

9. Having sex in a public place.

Okay, the FIRST thing you should know is that public sex is actually illegal. Still, 57.3% of women still fantasize about sex in a public place. It’s part exhibitionism and part voyeurism, and all parts sexy if this is what you’re into. According to the previously mentioned Glamour article, the most common picks are dark alleys, public bathrooms, and movie theaters.

10. And finally, having group sex.

Whoa! You would think that a threesome would be higher on the list, but it turns out that having sex with more than three people (both men and women) is what 56.5% of women get off on. Here’s what Cadell recommends for threesomes and more: “A couple can create their own personal rules around the experience, such as no penetration, or no kissing, or the third party cannot sleep over…it’s up to the couple to design their ultimate threesome that won’t jeopardize the relationship.”
