Halloween is right around the corner and we are fully in our espooky era. From finding the best costume to baking the perfect Halloween treats, we are in the full swing of things for the season—all we need is the right watch list for the season. While spooky movies, such as The Curse of La Llorona or Huesera, are some of our go-to films for entertainment during this time, there are also a slew of fun Halloween-themed episodes from Latine-led shows we know and love. Halloween is the perfect time to revisit nostalgic classics or check out television shows you haven’t seen before. From classic sitcoms like George Lopez to newer shows like Gentefied, there are plenty of shows across streaming platforms that star Latines enjoying themselves in all the spooky feels of Halloween. At the same time, these episodes exemplify intimate moments as well as cultural traditions that are authentic to our families. Whether its celebrating both Halloween and Dia de los Muertos or shining a light on boundaries with our families, these shows give us a little bit of both. Here are 10 Halloween episodes you can stream this espooky season!

Gentefied – “Yessika’s Day Off” (Season 2, Episode 5)

Gentefied’s Halloween episode is a blend of a girls’ night out, old flames reuniting, and paying homage to loved ones who’ve passed. In this episode, we see Yessika (Julissa Calderon) take a deserved break from her work as a local community activist when she has a girls’ night out with her bestie from out of town. Following her breakup with Ana (Karrie Martin) in season one, they run into each other after Ana and her mother’s landlord has left them without water for days—leading them to meet at Yessika’s community group. Another plotline in this episode also follows Ana and her little sister, Nayeli, paying tribute to their late father with an altar in his honor.

Lopez vs. Lopez – “Lopez vs Halloween” (Season 3, Episode 2)

The NBC sitcom Lopez vs. Lopez knows how to bring the fun for espooky season. From Mayan (Mayan Lopez) trying to get her son Chance to participate in Halloween traditions again to fun Frankenstein-themed family costumes, this Halloween episode has everything. Along with the spooky festivities, we also see Dia de Los Muertos represented with George (George Lopez) grappling with what legacy he’ll leave behind. As he feels haunted by his ancestors’ spirit, including his Abuelita Dolores (Rita Moreno), he puts in the effort to make changes for himself and for his family to remember him as a good father.

George Lopez – “Leave it to Lopez” (Season 4, Episode 5)

After a janitor at work with no life insurance passes away, Angie discovers George does not have life insurance either. While feeling guilty about not buying life insurance and being able to provide for his family, George becomes obsessed with death. This fixation leads to a hilariously spooky dream sequences filled with spoofs of television classics such as The Munsters, The Jetsons and Leave It To Beaver starring him and his family. After waking from his nightmares, he gains a new appreciation for life.

Ugly Betty – “The Lyin’, the Watch and the Wardrobe” (Season 1, Episode 5)

Betty Suarez’s Halloween is filled with fright from dressing up (in her iconic butterfly costume) for a costume contest only to find out there isn’t one to dealing with her growing feelings for her coworker Henry. In the midst of the work mishaps, a central plotline throughout the season follows Betty’s father, Ignacio and his immigration status. After refusing to go to the doctor, Betty goes to the HMO provider only to discover that her father has been using a fake Social Security number. Near the end of Halloween, Betty confronts her dad who reveals he is undocumented.

Cristela – “Hall-Oates-Ween” (Season 1, Episode 4)

The series Cristela made Mexican-American comedian Cristela Alonzo the first Latina to create, produce, write, and star in her own primetime comedy. This Halloween episode sees Cristela determined to impress her boss Trent with her party planning skills. On Halloween, Cristela dresses as John Oats with her boss’s daughter being her “Hall.”  Meanwhile, Cristela’s mother, Natalia, chooses to celebrate Dia de los Muertos due to her dislike for Halloween.

One Day at a Time – “One Halloween at a Time” (Season 4, Episode 4)

Spookiness is in the air after Lydia (Rita Moreno) finds a positive pregancy test in the kitchen trash can and the quest begins to find out who it belongs to. Convinced that it’s Penelope’s (Justina Machado), she decides to spy on her and her boyfriend, Max. When it is revealed that it’s not Penelope’s, they suspect it could be Nora’s, her son Alex’s girlfriend. They confront Alex and Nora at a Halloween party but soon find out that it’s actually Avery’s, family friend/landlord Schneider’s girlfriend. In the midst of all the commotion, we also get to see the Alvarez family in the full swing of Halloween with iconic couples costumes like Lydia and Leslie’s Belle and Beast and Penelope and Max’s Danny Zuko and Sandy.

Los Espookys – “El espanto de la herencia” (Season 1, Episode 2)

Los Espookys is a quirky horror-filled comedy year-round. Any episode across their two seasons is a perfect watch this season. Episode two of the series marks the Espookys first job after officially starting their horror-for-hire business. This episodes sees them hired by an unknown client to scare five people who are looking to win deceased millionaire’s coveted fortune—they’re challenged to stay the night at the millionaire’s “haunted” mansion. After a number of stunts and disagreeing on how to best frighten these guests, they fulfill their task with much success.

On My Block – “Chapter Four” (Season 1, Episode 4)

Halloween night in Freeridge takes a turn as Jamal leads the group to trick-or-treat in Brentwood to get one step closer towards uncovering the truth behind the legend of the Rollerworld money. While Ruby, Cesar and Olivia go trick-or-treating, Jamal and Monsé follow Abuela Marisol’s lead to meet Rosé, a former Soul Train dancer, who has insight about the Santos, a local gang, and who might have hidden the Rollerworld money. Meanwhile, Monsé meets a woman who she suspects to be her mother who left her and her father when she was young.

Gordita Chronicles – “In America We Trick or Treat” (Season 1, Episode 5)

Cucu “Gordita” Castelli (Olivia Goncalves) and her family move the Dominican Republic to Miami in 1985. In this comedy series, we see the family pursue the American Dream while navigating life in an entirely new country. The Castellis spend a tricky first Halloween in the U.S as older sister Emilia discovers her phone number in the boys’ bathroom at school and their Dominican grandmother arrives. While stepping into Halloween traditions like trick-or-treating, we also see Emilia take it upon herself to seek revenge on whoever put her number in the bathroom by using brujeria.

George Lopez – “Trick or Treat Me Right” ( Season 5, Episode 5)

With Halloween fast approaching, George and Angie are leveling up with their practical joke war—which is now even funnier and scarier than ever before. However, the Halloween cheer soon turned sour when the pranks stopped being funny after George’s mom, Benny made harsh and abusive comments towards George that took him to his limit. Benny is known throughout the series for being crass and rude towards her son, but this Halloween episode proved to be a breaking point leading George to call for changes to the family dynamic.
