2024 was an incredible year for Latinx authors with many powerful and important reads published. This year is already shaping up to be another fantastic year. Of course, we have more work to do to improve Latinx representation in publishing, especially when it comes to Afro-Latinx, Asian Latinx, and Indigenous Latinx authors. But this year has so many amazing titles that will be coming out over the next few months, so we decided to put together a list of books that will be coming out this year. We also made sure to round up titles in a variety of genres like fantasy, romance, coming-of-age, and horror, so there’s sure to be something for everyone. This is by no means an exhaustive list but a starting place as you curate your TBR lists for the year. Read on to learn more about 19 books by Latinx authors that we’re excited to read in 2025.

This is the Year by Gloria Muñoz follows self-proclaimed Goth and aspiring writer Julieta Villarreal. At only 17-years-old, she has lost her twin sister in a hit-and-run while her home in Florida is impacted by climate disaster. When she’s recruited by Cometa, a private space program to enlist select New American teens, she finds herself presented with an opportunity to give back to her adopted country by establishing the first extraterrestrial settlement.
