If you’re planning your summer of “DtMF” to El Choli to see Bad Bunny live this summer, you’re going to want more than just concert tickets—you’ll need a place to stay that’ll have you saying “no me quiero ir de aquí!” And honestly? That’s the vibe no matter where you land on the island. There’s an area en la isla for all kinds of travelers. Whether you’re looking for beach views, historic charm, late-night action, or luxe resort life, Puerto Rico has a stay to match your vibe… and perhaps your pocket-size, too. And no matter how near or far you are from El Choli, most of these areas are just a quick Uber ride away and yes, that’s the best way to move around the island. So go ahead and drop this in the group chat. It’s time for the besties to cast a vote. These are the top areas to stay in Puerto Rico while you’re living your best verano con Bad Bunny.

1. For the Luxe resort life, try Caribe Hilton

If you’re into ocean views, palm trees, and sipping the original Piña Colada where it was invented (literally), Caribe Hilton is the spot. It’s perfectly tucked between Condado and Old San Juan, giving you the best of both worlds in a five-star vacation setting… porque si te fuistes de vacaciones, you might as well go all out.

Located just 15 minutes from the SJU airport, Caribe Hilton offers an ample selection of places to dine, including a mix of local Puerto Rican cuisine and other favorites like Morton’s The Steakhouse, as well as a buzzing lobby and pool bar (ideal for a classy pregame before the concert if that’s your vibe!). Plus, it’s a quick Uber ride to El Choli so you’ll conveniently be only a few minutes away from Benito when the lights go on.

2. For the social media aesthetic, try Old San Juan

Anything can be a good picture (or TikTok) backdrop when you have cobblestone streets, colorful colonial buildings, rooftop bars, and sunset views over the forts. Staying in Old San Juan puts you in the heart of Puerto Rican history with easy access to amazing restaurants, nightlife, and art. Don’t miss Bad Bunny’s coffee bar pop-up, Café con Ron, located in the heart of San Juan. And while you’re there, try the coquito latte, which is truly unlike anything else you’ve ever had. Staying in Old San Juan means tons of access to charming Airbnbs, which are often more affordable than hotels.

Bonus: you can bar-hop your way to La Factoria after the concert.

3. For the nightlife and street art, try Santurce

Santurce is an artsy, urban neighborhood and a favorite for creatives and night owls. Think local bars, murals on every corner, and late-night eats. You’ll be surrounded by colorful street murals, indie galleries, trendy coffee shops, and some of the best nightlife on the island. It’s home to La Placita, where the streets turn into a block party at night, and you’re just minutes from the beach. Plus, you’re in a sweet spot for exploring without being stuck in the tourist bubble. It’s about a 10 minute Uber ride to El Choli, which is still very close, but plan ahead in case there’s traffic en route!

Notably, in Bad Bunny’s song “El Apagón” from the album Un Verano Sin Ti (2022) addresses issues like gentrification and power outages in Puerto Rico. The music video for this song includes footage from Santurce, highlighting the neighborhood’s significance in these discussions.

4. For proximity, try Hato Rey

If your main priority is being steps away from El Choli, Hato Rey is your go-to. It’s the business district of San Juan, so while it’s not the most scenic or lively area, it’s nice if you want to beat the traffic, get glam in peace, and head to the concert without stress. You’ll find solid hotel chains and quick access to the train (Tren Urbano), plus you’re only a short Uber ride away from nightlife in Santurce or beach days in Condado. While it’s not the most popular place for tourists to stay, it’s convenient if your sole mission is to be as close to El Choli as possible.

5. For night owls, try Isla Verde

If your Bad Bunny era includes dancing ‘til 4 a.m. and chasing post-concert adventures, Isla Verde is calling your name. Here’s what you need to know: most spots in Puerto Rico close by 1 or 2 a.m., depending on the night. But if you’re the type who believes the night doesn’t end when the concert ends, Isla Verde has a few standout venues that keep the vibes going well into the night.

Bonus: you’re super close to the airport and just a quick ride from San Juan’s main attractions, making it a great location for a turn-up and a touch of convenience.
